Alison Nelson's Chocolate Bar received "Best New York Chocolate Cafe" By Time Out New York at their annual Eat Out Awards in 2007. It was named "Best Holiday Sampler" by the New York Daily News, garnered multiple Citysearch Awards for "Best Hot Chocolate", "Best Dessert", Best Gourmet Cafe" and "Best West Village Shop", Shecky's awarded it New York's "Best Chocolate Fix", Wallpaper Magazine bestowed its "Favorite Stores Around The World" distinction upon it and Inc Magazine proclaimed it was one of the "Fastest Growing Private Company's in America" to name just a few.
Alison Nelson was honored by Gourmet News "20 Under 40" and received the prestigious Crains "40 Under 40" Award. Her book "Chocolate Bar: Recipes and Entertaining Ideas for Living the Sweet Life" won the Gourmand World Cookbook Award and the brand was a finalist in the London Design Awards in 2003.
